The Scooters dataset is data about trips on electronic scooters. Lime Scooters were made available to the public in June 2019 to use throughout Norfolk. Data represents trips from July 2019 to the present and is updated weekly.

In 2022, Keep Norfolk Beautiful received a grant from Litterati to participate in the City Fingerprint Project. Litterati is a global litter data science company that records, analyzes, and provides insights into litter hotspots worldwide. Through the City Fingerprint Project, Litterati focused on observing and recording litter data in specific and repeatable locations in Norfolk through the Spring, Summer, and Fall of 2022 in order to provide a baseline of where litter is in Norfolk and what type is litter appears in the City. This dataset contains the litter that was observed during this project.

This dataset is a one-time data release and will not be updated.

This dataset shows all city-managed trees, the majority of which are located on public property, lining streets, or in right of ways. The original inventory of these trees was conducted in the late 1990s/early 2000s by the Norfolk Master Gardeners. No official re-inventory has been conducted since then by City officials or ISA Certified Arborists, however, tree records in this dataset have been and are being updated over time by City Staff. This dataset will be updated in the Open Data Portal every weekday.

This URL provides data about the city’s mowing schedule that is managed by the Bureau of Parks & Urban Forestry Operations. Mowing locations include medians, parks, schools, vacant lots, and various other city properties. Parks & Recreation landscaping crews are responsible for preserving and protecting Norfolk's parks and other outdoor public areas for aesthetics, recreation, education, and conservation. Vacant city lots, parcels, and school properties are maintained within city code. The landscaping services team manages the mowing of nearly all city-owned property. Factors such as rain, holidays, and storm response can affect the schedule. Note that dates are subject to change due to special events, inclement weather, and storm response/cleanup. Major parks will continue to be mowed on a weekly basis or kept usable to include Lafayette, Lakewood, Northside, Poplar Hall, Berkley, and Tarrallton.

This dataset contains information about circulation (checkouts) by item type for each Norfolk Public Library branch location by month. The data begins July 2016 and is updated monthly.

This dataset contains information about Norfolk Public Library active users by month starting in July 2016. This information will be updated annually. Active users include users whose accounts have had any activity during the previous three years including card renewal, fines added, payments made, or computer usage. This dataset is updated monthly.

Norfolk Police Department General Orders are written policies and procedures that guide the actions of police officers while on duty. They provide clear guidelines for how officers should handle different situations, such as making arrests, using force, interacting with the public, and conducting investigations. The following link leads to the official administrative and operational General Orders for the Norfolk Police Department, as well as the Police Officer's Manual. This information is provided for public access, to achieve transparency and understanding between the Norfolk Police Department and the citizens they serve. These General Orders combined with the Police Officer’s Manual set forth responsibilities and standards of conduct expected of all police officers. As new General Orders are added or updated, they will be included in this list of available scanned documents.
